About God's House

Our Story

Marion was the first God's House location started by Founding Pastors Ryan and Katara McCarty in 2000 in downtown Marion, Indiana. Since that time, God's House has grown to be a vibrant culture of faith, compassion, and grace as we reach out across the street and around the world. Currently led by Pastors Dave and Ronda Toevs, we now have locations in Marion, Indiana, and in Zambia, Africa.

It is our passion to see God's best happen in your life. Whether you are new to church or grew up being a part of it, you will be greeted the moment you come in. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Our Mission

God's House exists to spur the message of the hope found in Jesus in our city and world through making disciples.

Our Vision

Making uncommon love common.  "This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves." - 1 John 3:16

Our Core Values

At God's House, we have identified four distinct core values that are the heartBEAT of who we are.

We believe in belonging. Belonging is where you call home. It's where you identify yourself.

"Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture." Psalm 100:3

We believe in empowering each other to live by faith in God and love.

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works." Hebrews 10:24

We are honest with ourselves and other where we are in our journey.

"Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed." James 5:16

"Let us tell our neighbors the truth for we are all parts of the same body." Ephesians 4:25

We follow truth revealed in scripture. We follow truth revealed in daily life through the Holy Spirit's guidance.

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

  • Historical Registry

God's House's sanctuary, the former First Presbyterian Church, is now on the National Historical Registry. The Gothic Revival construction is needing at least $500,000 worth of work.  If you are a lover of beautiful architecture, believe in our mission, and would like to donate to help us restore this grand building, please click on the donate button above and earmark it for the building fund.  We want God's House to bring God's Light and Hope to 6th and Gallatin well after we hand off this church to the next generation and keep building a church our kids can keep building!
